We put this kit together to show what Carl Caylor uses every day in his Holland, MI, studio. Carl photographs a little of everything: high school seniors, families, headshots, pets, teams and individuals, commercial work, and more, so he needs lighting gear that is adaptable, flexible, and as he would say, "Gosh darn good!"
Carl's go-to main light is the AD400Pro. He appreciates the ability to use it with the battery on location, or with the optional AC400 AC adapter in the studio. It really is two-lights in one: excellent both outdoors and in the studio. He often pairs that with his old standby, the AD600BM, the original Godox 600ws battery-powered strobe. In the studio, Carl will be either on the 240FS rolling lightstand, which allows him to put the light up to almost 8 feet high, or all the way down to the floor for children and newborns.
For kickers, Carl likes to use the AD200Pros. Outdoors he equips them with barn doors and grids from the BD-07 kit. Inside, he often pairs them with the SNAP1255 stripboxes using the S2 Bowens adapters.
Last but not least, is the amazing Rolling ScrimFlector that can be easily positioned as a large reflector using white or silver material, or as a scrim to diffuse light from a strobe or from the studio window.
